Q: Can sweating really help me lose weight?
A: While most immediate weight loss is from water loss, infrared therapy boosts metabolism, circulation, and increases calorie burn — which can support a healthy weight loss routine when paired with proper diet and exercise. You can burn up to 600 calories during the 36-hour window during and after your sweat session.
Q: Will I really sweat that much lying still?
A: Yes! The infrared heat raises your internal temperature, causing a deep sweat without needing to move. Clients are often surprised at how much they sweat without doing any exercise! Especially if you stay adequately hydrated!
Q: How does the human body react to infrared sweating?
A: Infrared sauna treatments cause reactions in the body that include:
-increased, accelerated sweating
-increased heart rate, making this experience a cardiovascular workout
-the same type of clarity-of-mind & heightened sense of self awareness, & feelings similar to moderate exercise
- relaxation responses triggered by the body’s parasympathetic system
Q: What are some of the benefits of infrared sweating?
A: Some of the most loved benefits include:
Detoxification: Supports elimination of toxins and heavy metals through sweat
Weight & Water Loss: Burn up to 600 total calories per one 36-hour span during and after your session
Muscle & Joint Relief: Reduces tension, soreness, and inflammation
Better Sleep: Calms the nervous system for improved rest
Glowing Skin: Boosts circulation and purges impurities
Stress Reduction: Relaxation on a cellular level
Q: What should I do after my session?
A: Hydration is key! Drink plenty of water, and consider a light, nourishing snack. Eat clean. And most importantly, relax and recharge after your cool-down. ALSO - We recommend that you do not shower for at least 2 HOURS following your session as to not interrupt your body’s natural temperature regulation, as you are still in the process of burning maximum calories.
Q: Will I feel tired afterward?
A: You may feel calm, relaxed, or even a little sleepy, and ready for a nap, especially if you’ve released a lot of toxins or tension. Others feel elated, energized and uplifted. Every body responds a little differently — and that’s okay!
Q: Who should avoid infrared sweat beds?
A: Avoid infrared sweating if you are:
Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Have a heart condition or pacemaker
Currently intoxicated or dehydrated
Diagnosed with certain illnesses (consult your doctor first)
Always check with your doctor/healthcare provider first if you are unsure.
Lymphatic
Pressotheraphy FAQs
Q: What is lymphatic drainage pressotherapy?
A: Lymphatic drainage pressotherapy is a non-invasive compression therapy that stimulates your body’s natural lymphatic system using a specialized suit that inflates and compresses in wave-like motions all over your body. It helps to detox, reduce swelling, and improve circulation — all while you relax and catch up on your favorite show or movie.
Q: What are the benefits of lymphatic drainage?
A: Here are some benefits:
Reduces water retention & swelling
Boosts detoxification and immune function
Smooths the appearance of cellulite
Improves circulation & speeds recovery
Promotes relaxation & body lightness
Supports post-surgical healing
Q: Who is lymphatic drainage good for?
A: Pressotherapy is amazing for:
People experiencing bloating or puffiness
Athletes needing muscle recovery
Post-travel fluid retention
Clients wanting to support detox, weight loss, or lymph health
Those who sit or stand for long periods
Q: How does a lymphatic pressotheraphy session work?
A: You’ll slip into a pressotherapy suit (similar to large compression boots or sleeves) that rhythmically inflates and deflates. The gentle pressure mimics manual lymphatic massage, encouraging your body to move excess fluids and toxins through your lymphatic system and out of your body. It feels like a firm, rhythmic massage or a wave of pressure that gently squeezes and releases along your body. Most clients find it incredibly relaxing and soothing — many fall asleep!
Q: How long is a pressotheraphy session?
A: Each session lasts approximately 1 hour, PLUS 15-20min afterwards. You will be lying down in a reclined position for a total of 60 min, with a 15-20 min decompression time afterwards, to enjoy your tea and orange slices provided to renourish the body.
Q: What should I wear to my lymphatic drainage pressotherapy session?
A: We at TOXXLAB will provide an oversized and comfy change of clothes for you to wear during your pressotherapy session. You do not need to bring your own clothes.
If you would rather bring your own, comfort is key. Come in soft, fitted clothing like leggings and a light long-sleeve top or tank. Avoid bulky clothes, and try to skip sweating and body oils or lotions right before.
Q: How often should I get lymphatic pressotheraphy?
A: You can do it 1–3 times per week depending on your wellness goals. Some people do pressotherapy as a monthly reset, while others use it more frequently during detox or weight loss phases.
